WHO YOU’RE WORKING WITH
A specialist who has worked in the nonprofit sector for over two decades
My name is Brent Purves. I’m a digital marketing consultant based near Vancouver, British Columbia, and I’ve spent more than 20 years helping nonprofits, charities, and mission-driven organizations grow their online presence and impact.
I started working with the Google Ad Grant program early in its existence, and I’ve seen the program evolve from a simple goodwill initiative into a powerful — and technically demanding — advertising platform that requires real expertise to use well.
Most nonprofits I speak with have one of two problems: they’ve applied for the grant and have no idea how to use it effectively, or they’ve heard about it but don’t know where to begin. I help with both — and everything in between.
I work through Stir Marketing, a full-service digital agency I’ve been part of for over 20 years. That means you get the accountability and direct relationship of working with a named individual, with the infrastructure and Google-certified expertise of an established agency behind your account.

GOOGLE AD GRANT SERVICES FOR NON PROFITS
Everything your organization needs to apply, launch, and grow
Whether your nonprofit is new to the program or has an existing account that has stalled, I manage the full lifecycle of the Google Ad Grant — from first eligibility check to ongoing monthly optimization.
Eligibility assessment & application
I confirm your Canadian or international nonprofit’s eligibility, guide TechSoup verification, and manage the full Google for Nonprofits and Ad Grant application process.
Keyword research & campaign build
Intent-driven keyword research tailored to your mission, programs, and audiences — not generic terms that waste impressions. Structured ad groups built for compliance and performance.
Ad copywriting
Compelling, policy-compliant ad copy and responsive search ads that connect the right searchers with the right pages on your site — and maintain the 5% CTR Google requires.
Monthly optimization & compliance
Your account is never set and forgotten. Monthly refreshes, keyword pruning, bid strategy review, and compliance checks keep your grant active and your campaigns improving.
Conversion tracking & analytics
Proper Google Analytics 4 and Tag Manager setup so your campaigns optimize for real outcomes — donation form completions, email signups, volunteer applications — not just clicks.
Existing account audit & rescue
If your grant has been suspended, underperforming, or sitting idle, I conduct a full account audit and rebuild — addressing the structural issues that are costing you free advertising.
PRICING
Need full agency packages with clear pricing?
My work is delivered through Stir Marketing’s Google Ad Grant service, which offers two structured packages — Get Started at $699/mo and Get Growing at $1,349/mo — both with no long-term commitment. If you’d like to explore packages and pricing directly, Stir’s page lays it all out. Either way, the same expertise and team support your account.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Does my nonprofit qualify for a Google Ad Grant?
Most registered Canadian or American charities qualify. If you’re based in Canada, your organization must be registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and verified through TechSoup Canada. Hospitals, government organizations, and schools are excluded, though charitable arms (eg foundations) of hospitals often qualify. I assess eligibility at no charge during a free consultation — no commitment required.
How much is the Google Ad Grant for nonprofits?
The Google Ad Grant provides eligible nonprofits with up to $10,000 USD per month in free Google Search advertising — that is $120,000 annually. The grant applies exclusively to search ads on Google.com and must be actively managed to stay compliant and fully utilized. Without ongoing management, most nonprofits spend only a fraction of their allocation.
What happens if my nonprofit’s Google Ad Grant gets suspended?
Suspension typically results from falling below Google’s required 5% click-through rate for two consecutive months, using disallowed keywords, or failing to maintain active conversion tracking. Reinstatement is possible after corrections are submitted to Google — but prevention is far easier than recovery. If your account has already been suspended, I offer a full audit and reinstatement support. Book a consultation to discuss your situation.
What is the difference between working with Brent Purves versus Stir Marketing directly?
I lead Google Ad Grant consulting personally — you work directly with a named individual (me) who has 20+ years of nonprofit marketing experience. Stir Marketing, the agency I’ve worked with for over 20 years, provides the team infrastructure, Google certifications, and structured packages behind that service. Whether you connect through my page or through Stir directly, the same expertise and team support your account. If you prefer clear upfront package pricing, Stir’s service page lays that out in detail.
How long does it take to get a Google Ad Grant live?
Most nonprofits have their first campaign live within 4 to 6 weeks of starting the process. This includes TechSoup Canada verification, Google for Nonprofits enrollment, Ad Grant application review, account setup, keyword research, ad copywriting, conversion tracking setup, and campaign launch. The timeline can vary depending on Google’s review process and your organization’s website readiness.
Can you manage an existing Google Ad Grant that is underperforming?
Yes. If your nonprofit already has a Google Ad Grant but is not spending the full allocation, has been suspended, or is generating traffic without meaningful conversions, I can conduct a full account audit and take over management. Most underperforming accounts have fixable structural issues — generic keywords, poor ad copy, missing or broken conversion tracking, or poorly organized campaign structure. A setup fee covers the audit and rebuild work.
What if we already have a Google Ad Grant account?
We can audit and take over an existing account. The setup fee covers the audit, reconnect, and strategy work.
Is there a contract or long-term commitment?
No. Both packages are month-to-month. You can cancel anytime with no penalty.
Do you offer white-label services for agencies?
Yes. Stir Marketing offers white-labelled Google Grant and digital advertising services for creative agencies managing client accounts.

WHY NONPROFITS WORK WITH BRENT
What makes working with a named individual different
There are many agencies that offer Google Ad Grant management. Here is what I offer that most don’t.
You know exactly who is working on your account
My name is on this page. I’m the one doing the work — not a junior account manager you’ve never met. You can reach me directly.
20+ years in the nonprofit sector
I understand how nonprofits think, how boards work, and how to communicate results to leadership teams without drowning them in marketing jargon.
Google-certified team backing your account
I work through Stir Marketing, a Google Ads Search and Measurement certified agency with 25 years of experience. You get individual attention with agency-grade infrastructure.
Canada and USA-specific expertise
I understand the TechSoup Canada verification process, the CRA registration requirements, and the unique landscape of Canadian and American nonprofits and charities.
No long-term contracts
Month-to-month. You’re not locked in. I earn your continued business by delivering results and being genuinely useful to your organization — not by contract clauses.
Clear reporting, plain language
Monthly reports that explain what happened, why it matters, and what we’re doing next — without requiring a marketing degree to understand.
